Buffy Summers

In ogni generazione nasce una Cacciatrice, per proteggere il mondo da demoni, vampiri e altre creature infernali. Buffy nasce nel gennaio del 1981 e sin da piccola ama moltissimo pattinare ma a causa della sua missione dovrà abbandonare questa sua passione. All'età di sedici anni, con sua madre Joyce (separata dal padre), si trasferisce a Sunnydale, sperando di lasciarsi alle spalle per sempre le brutte esperienze di Los Angeles (fu qui che conobbe il suo primo osservatore e uccise vari vampiri, per cui fu anche espulsa per aver dato fuoco alla palestra della scuola), ed il suo più grande desiderio è quello di poter avere una vita normale come tutti gli adolescenti. Ma è solo un' illusione, perché Sunnydale è il luogo di convergenza di forze oscure, che la battezzano come "bocca dell'inferno". Alla Sunnydale High incontra Giles il suo osservatore (in veste di bibliotecario) e Angel che l'aiuteranno insieme ai suoi amici a combattere vampiri e demoni. Ogni puntata sarà ricca di combattimenti uccisioni, misteri svelati, e tanta ironia. Tutte queste caratteristiche fanno del personaggio di Sarah Michelle Gellar, una eroina dei tempi moderni.

 

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar è nata il 14 aprile 1977 a New York, USA. Da amici e parenti viene chiamata amichevolmente Sassy. Sarah ha iniziato a recitare all'età di 4 anni quando fu notata da un agente in un ristorante mentre pranzava con mamma e papà. Il suo primo ruolo fu in uno spot TV per una famosa catena di fast-food: Burger King.

Dopo questa sua prima esperienza, continua la sua carriera televisiva apparendo accanto personaggi già noti in America come: Sally Kirkland, Roberto Lupone, Matthew Broderick e Susan Lucci. Le sue successive apparizioni avvengono nella mini-serie prodotta dalla NBC intitolata "Woman named Jackie" dove Sarah recita nel ruolo di Jaqueline Bouvier. Successivamente partecipa come protagonista in "Swans Crossing". Nonostante quest'ultimo spettacolo non sia durato a lungo, ci sono ancora oggi molti fans e siti Web che lo celebrano. Successivamente partecipa anche al serial "All my Children" (La valle dei pini) svolgendo un ruolo molto importante, che le permise di vincere, poco dopo, il celebre premio americano Emmy. Sarah ha vissuto per 17 anni nella città di New York. A questo punto Sarah si sposta in California dove continua la sua carriera con la serie "Beverly Hills Family Robinson". Nel 1996, "Buffy the vampire slayer" viene presentato dalla WB Network come una trasmissione di rimpiazzo di metà stagione. Sarah tenta in modo molto originale di recitare la parte di Cordelia Chase ma Joss Whedon, prese la fulminea decisione di assegnarle la parte di Buffy Summers. Il lavoro di Sarah, dopo il ruolo di protagonista in questo telefilm,  include molte altre apparizioni nei film thriller "So cosa hai fatto",  "Scream 2" e "The Grudge". Nel 1999 partecipa al film "Cruel intention", nel quale Sarah svolgeva la parte della perfida protagonista.

Sarah è stata fidanzata per molti anni con l'attore Jerry O'Connel ("Il mio amico Ultraman"), ma sul set di "So cosa hai fatto", conobbe il suo attuale marito, Freddie Prinze Jr. Il 1 settembre 2002 si è sposata in Messico con Freddie.
